Exploring Your Ideal Life: The First Step in Hourly Financial Planning

I’m at Dunanda Falls in Yellowstone National Park today. It’s in the southwest corner, and it’s about an eight-mile hike to get here. This falls is gorgeous, and at the base of it is a hot spring. We’re about to jump in — there’s a bunch of people here today, we are running out of time this year.
I want to talk to you real quick about the first step in the EVOKE Life Planning process: Exploration. Watch the video here.
Hourly Financial Planning Begins with Exploration
The idea with this really is just to get together and, on a high-level view, take a broad look at what might be part of your most fulfilling life.
What is important to you? What’s part of an ideal day, an ideal week, an ideal life?
The idea is we’re not going to think about any limitations. We’re not going to think about why you couldn’t do any of these things. We’re not going to think about when you’re going to do it or any of that. We just want to open your mind and help get you in touch with what we sometimes run away from — and that’s all the possibility.
Opening Your Mind to Possibility in Financial Planning
We have a tendency sometimes to get stuck in our patterns and stuck in our day-to-day life. We want to open that up and get you in touch with what really touches you and creates meaning in your life.
It’s just going to be a fun meeting where we talk through this and begin the process by opening you up to possibility. From there, we move on to more detail. We deal with obstacles. We deal with what might get in the way and how it affects your finances. But not at the beginning — at first, we keep things open and focus on what’s meaningful.
